The Food Safety and Standard Authority of India (FSSAI) has recently launched the Food Safety Training and Certification (FoSTaC) program to ensure capacity building of Food Safety Supervisors either for execution and entry in food business across the country. FSSAI hasmandated existing food business sector (National or State Licensee) to have at least one FoSTaC certified food safety supervisor for every 25 food handlers.MIT College of Food Technology is one of the brainchild institutions of MIT Art, Design & Technology University, Pune. MITCFT recognition as a FoSTaC training partner from FSSAI, New Delhi in addition to regular academic profile (B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D.), has underlined competitive educational quality index liable for national ranking. The successful organization of FoSTaC training on 9 th February, 2018 for food industry stakeholders to ensure safe food production got reflected as an incredible academic activity of the institution. The anticipated beginning to strengthen association/ coordination with national institutions will leave no any stone unturned to proceed towards the status of MITCFT as a center of excellence to impart knowledge in the discipline of food science and technology. The successful celebration of World Food Day- 2017 on 10 th October 2017 emerged out as a vital event admissible to sensitize #MITCFT students to change their mind set from job seekers to job providers. The corporate, public and private sector demand base efficacy development requirement of students to compensate with anticipated MIT CFT mission mode module development functionality to monitor migration of common mass from rural to urban sector through ensured food security and rural development was underlined as a principle endeavor of institution. The unanimous commitment of MIT CFT faculty as Sankalp Se Siddhi is manifested through mission mode endeavor to transform existing status of CFT to center of excellence bestowed with knowledge, research and outreach potential in the discipline of #Food_Science and Technology.
The company Maersk Line India Pvt. Ltd. has visited MANET campus on 9th Nov -10th Nov 2017 for the placement interviews for the cadets of semester-III of B.Tech Marine Engineering and B.Sc Nautical Science.
The total number of cadets appeared for interview are 51,from which B.Tech Marine Engineering cadets were 23 and B.Sc Nautical Science cadets were 28.

Inaugural Ceremony of 'Mechanical Engineering Students Association' (MESA)
Department of Mechanical Engineering under MIT School Of Engineering Pune-#MITSOEP of MIT ADT University, Pune, organized Inaugural Ceremony of 'Mechanical Engineering Students’ Association' (MESA), on 3rd November 2017.
The inauguration of MESA happened in the presence of Chief Guest-Mr. Sagar Shah [Country Manager, India – Mahindra & Mahindra], Guest of Honour Dr.+Mangesh Karad [Executive President, +MIT ADT University, Pune] and Special Invitees – Dr. Kishore Ravande [Principal, MITSOE, Pune] , Dr. Rajneesh Kaur Sachdev [Dean MITSOE, Pune].
The objective behind the formation of MESA was to give platform for showcasing hidden talent of the students, to organize social activities and to organize Industrial visits, Seminars, Workshops, Guest Lectures, Internships programmes for the students. #MESA is the body of the #Mechanical_Engg. Students, formed by them, governed by them for the benefit of themselves.
Marine Engineering Department of #MANET, organized an Industrial Visit to WARTSILA Manufacturing plant at Khopoli on 17th November 2017, Friday for the cadets of B. Tech (Marine Engineering – Semester V & VII). Wärtsilä is a global leader in advanced technologies and complete lifecycle solutions for the marine and energy markets. By emphasizing sustainable innovation and total efficiency, Wärtsilä maximizes the environmental and economic performance of the vessels and power plants of its customers.

The WLSA Training Centre Khopoli is located 106 km from #MANET, Pune by the Pune-Mumbai Highway. A beautiful drive through the scenic Lonavala countryside and mountains. On reaching the Wartsila plant at 09.45 am, the students and the faculty members had to go through a security process at the manufacturing unit. The students and faculty members were welcomed by Mr. Shashikant Shetty Manager, HR & Mr. Haridas Thorat Sr.Manager Production. Light Breakfast with hot tea was served at the canteen. Introductory session was arranged through power point presentation to describe the complete product range from Engines to Aux units, services manufactured by Wartsila. The complete range of products were shown for various ratings related to customers demand. Queries raised by students and faculty members were discussed in the presentation session. Various safety factors related to manufacturing unit were discussed.
The visit started with complete display of modern V engine WARTSILA 34 DF 16V, 8000KW, 1200 RPM which was on test bed and had completed vigorous testing procedures. All the associated systems of this modern engine along with automation was well explained by Mr. Thorat.
Later he took the cadets through various manufacturing units of Wartsila where they could see start to finish process of manufacture of various pipelines, valves, flanges, pipe bending, assembly of oil filtration units and their working. Cadets were also shown propeller blade damage and repair. Cadets were taken in their training centre where they were shown cut suction views of Cylinder heads, Piston, liner, con Rod, fuel injector, fuel pump, etc.
To conclude with, Cadets could see and understand Manufacturing of Engines, propulsion, ancillary units, engine control and automation, monitoring, fuel, and auxiliary systems simulators for both diesel and gas operated installations. Environmental products and SCR training. Hot and delicious Lunch was served to all the cadets and Faculty members. The visit ended with a vote of thanks from faculty members and students to manufacturing unit personnel’s for granting permission for the visit.

Two hundred plus renowned scientists, project leaders, experts, from more than 30 countries recorded presence and provided vibrant open platform for brain storming discussion to enjoy currant scenario of nutritional goodness and health claim base production of innovative food products. The conference is emerged out as a live asset to harvest need base information, research dissemination and perspective vision to modulate out rich efficacy from the discipline of food science and technology to satisfy aspirations of academic, public, corporate and public private partnership sectors. The short term but personal association with national and overseas food scientists recorded the collaborative up gradation of potential efficacy to decide futuristic road map of research and education and also transfer of knowledge though students and faculty exchange program. The MIT – ADT School of Fine Arts and Applied Arts organised a calligraphy workshop which was conducted by the legendary calligraphist Mr. Achyut Palav sir. The event came to
a start by the felicitation ceremony of Achyut Sir by Honourable Vice Chancellor of MIT ADT University Dr. Sunil Rai by offering him a shawl followed by the dignitaries
participating in Deep Prajwalan, World Peace prayer and Saraswati Puja. Immediately after Achyut sir began the workshop by presenting his marvellous skills on paper, his presentation
was accompanied by classical music by Vishwashanti Kala Academy which was composed by Mr. Mukund Pandi. Then the first half of the event came to an end after Achyut sir gave a
presentation along with short videos regarding his work and calligraphy. In the second half, sir demonstrated different techniques of calligraphy with different tools he
clarified the doubts that students had. The workshop began with meditation i.e., chanting ‘Aum’. The first task was to wirte ‘Aum’ in a single strokefollowed by other fun activities
which included making strokes with a swift and shrill sound. The stuents too explored different tools such as syringe, handmade wooden tools, toothbrush etc.
Lastly, there was a group activity which was to continue a single stroke one by one. Achyut sir ended the workshop with his final canvas painting, the program came to an end with a
vote of thanks by Dr. Milind Dhobley Sir. This workshop certainly enlightened our minds with the art of calligraphy which will be beneficial to us in the near future.
Cdt. Neel Deshmukh of MIT MANET, participated and successfully completed the IRONMAN 70.3 Triathlon held in Antalya, Turkey. The triathlon consisted of 1.9km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21.1 km running. Neel has completed this whole triathlon course in 6hrs 14mins. His age group rank was 10.The swim course was in the Mediterranean Sea, cycling on beautiful highways in Antalya and finally the run was a 2 loopin the Gloria Serenity resort. Neel has completed the 1.9km swimming course in 32mins, 90km cycling course in 3hrs 15mins and 21.1km running course in 2hrs 14mins.
IRONMAN is one of the hardest single day endurance sports events in the world. It is an international triathlon held across different parts of the world. Athletes from all over the world take part in the event and the one held in turkey had athletes from over 100 countries each one representing their own flag.Neel was among the 7 Indians representing the Tricolor in Turkey and was the second fastest Indian to complete the course.
Neel is currently training at MIT MANET, Rajbaug campus for his next IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon which will be held at Colombo, Sri Lanka in February 2018 where he will be representing India among several athletes from all over the world.

The Grand Inauguration Ceremony of Corporate Relations Club of MIT-ADT University was held on Friday, 27th Oct 2017 at Raj Kapoor Auditorium at 10:00 am. The Function was inaugurated through the auspicious hands of Honorable Chief Guest Dr. Anant Sardeshmukh Director General Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA, Pune). Respected Prof Dr. Sunil Rai, Vice Chancellor MIT-ADT University, Prof Dr. Mahesh Deshpande, Registrar MIT-ADT University and Prof Mrs Sunita Karad Chief Mentor Corporate Relations Club were also present on the dais to grace the occasion.
